Q1: What does Helix do?

A1: We add significant value to our clients with our project basis work. The length of our projects generally ranges from three weeks to six months. Our project teams generally consist of two to six people. In most projects, we work at the client site, together with the client organization. While each consultant tends to specialize in a specific sector, all consultants experience a variety of industries over their careers at Helix.

Q2: What are the most important attributes of a candidate?

A2: We value a number of attributes in our job candidates:
Academic achievement
Strong social skills / ability to work as part of a team
Strong analytical skills
High level of motivation / willingness to take ownership of one’s work
Ability to influence and manage people with solid communication and presentation skills
Experience in consultancy or other relevant industries is a plus

Q3: To what extent am I able to select the assignments that I will work on?

A3: At Helix, you are able to steer yourself towards certain industries and assignments from day one. Our mentoring system provides you with an opportunity to raise your viewpoints and discuss your career with the experienced members of the firm.

Q4: How does the mentoring system work?

A4: At Helix, you will be assigned a mentor on the day that you join the company. Mentors are selected from the senior members of the Helix team who have significant experience in management consulting. You will have official and unofficial meetings with your mentor over the course of a year. Your mentor will not only guide you through important career decisions but also support on other issues that you would like to raise during the meetings including training needs, work/life balance and social responsibility.

Q5: How much should I expect to work and travel as a Helix consultant?

A5: In line with the challenging nature of management consulting business, our workload may become demanding at certain periods of the year. While long working hours are not the norm at Helix, you may experience time pressure during some projects. While we undertake several assignments in Istanbul, we also have to travel to other cities and countries. In general, it is safe to assume that Helix consultants spend 50% of their time working in other cities and countries.

Q6: When are your recruitment periods?

A6: We generally recruit new graduates and interns in April and May. However, we accept and evaluate applications on a year-round basis.
